Mr. Coffee Died a Horrible Death Today

All I wanted was a cup of coffee.  EmmaLou, Golden Destroyer had awakened me at the horrid hour of 5:00 a.m. and I was definitely foggy-headed.  Fortunately the night before, Devoted Spouse had prepared the coffee pot -- all I had to do was press the On button.  I pressed the On button.  About 10 minutes later I heard the lovely "ding" sound that means the coffee is ready.  I rushed to the kitchen in anticipation and found Mr. Coffee had a terminal case of coffee coming out his bottom - literally there was coffee (all 10 cups) all over my counter and dripping down onto cupboards and floor.  I did a quick mopping up (to save the cupboards and some longabarger baskets in danger of drowning) prior to this pic.  Another Mr. Coffee bites the dust.  Never again.  No, never again.  Oh crap on a crutch.

  1. I don' drink coffee so I would be okay. Hubby only uses a French Press for his coffee but when he is home he usually only drinks tea. Since he comes from Canada and all, that is what his family drinks, and we drink it with cream or milk in it. When in public, people give us weird looks and if I say he is from Camada they just nod and say oh, as if that explains it all, which I guess it does. He would go without tea before he would drink it without cream. That is unheard of. And now I, the girls, and the grandkids are just as bad. Hot tea HAS to have cream or we then make it iced tea.

I guess today will be a other shopping day. Good luck and I hope you find a nice coffee maker. Have you tried a crusinart or a kitchen aid? I like their stuff.

    God bless.

  2. Going shopping now. Anything but Mr. Coffee. I like French Press but I also want a reg coffee pot. I love hot tea but like it straight - no sweetener and no cream. Odd that way. I like my coffee black, too. I'm so flippin boring...

  4. Sorry for the spelling errors, but was on the iPhone and meds. It won't let me scroll up after I have typed past the end of the box which means I cannot check for spelling errors. Although those meds don't help much or the teeney tiny keypad. I was trying to find 'Camada' on the map and saw it was on another planet. I always knew that hubby was a little strange, I just did not know how strange or that he was an illegal alien.

What kind of pot did you find? Is it of high quality or is it your dad's kind. Did you move real slow after you used it, or did you just get real hungry from all the work of getting it ready? Hope you liked it. It's the best pot around. LOL

    God bless.

  5. MrsU - I finally settled on something from that Italian cook Giada DiLaurentiis (she has a cooking show I watch sometimes, but can't always get her recipes to work and honestly she needs to put "the girls" back in her shirt!!!) Anyway...she has a cooking line out and her coffee pot was on sale at Target plus I had a $10 gift cert - so I bought it. Works great. Still like French Press coffee best.

  7. willow - which one the new one or the old? the old one sucked royally but I liked the thermal carafe so I kept it. the new one works well, but the pot is hard to pour from - something about the narrowness of the spout on the glass - I dunno - I can never win on coffee pots, period. sigh
