Invasion of the Worms Continues

Where do they think they're going?  Worm Mecca?  We are still under attack - Devoted Spouse has literally been sweeping worms off the front porch and still the slimy little monsters are sneaking in under the door.  Today I rolled up a "doggie" towel and placed it in front of our door, and the little buggers are climbing over the towel somehow.  Devoted Spouse will shortly go to the Big Orange Box of Toys for some new and improved weatherstripping because I'm tired of both of us worm-wrangling.  Dangitall it's still too cold to fish or I might be happy about this.  Oh crap on a crutch.

  1. Worms creep me out! My brother used to chase me around the yard with them *shiver*

  2. Linda - I have no prob w/worms and rather enjoy impaling their squirmy bodies on a hook when I go fishing. I do not like them wriggling their way thru my nice clean front hallway however.

  3. I wish you could pack them all up and send them here. Worms are a precious commodity out here being as we have so few of them. When it rains I do try to save the 5 or 6 worms that we do have. I feel very sad when I see one that lost it's way and dried up the next day. It took us many years before we even started to see them popping up at all.

We have this hard as clay soil since we live in a semi-arid area, basically the part that comes between the desert and the non-desert area. Really great for grape fields, which this land used to be at one time. Grape fields were everywhere when we first moved out here. No traffic, everyone spoke english, little crime, taxes were less, we actually had enough water for those who lived here. Now all the grape fields are gone, no one speaks english, crime abounds, and taxes are immense. Screw this place, oh it will be so great when we can move, hopefully before we die. Maybe then the worms will come. Ugh, good thing I want to be cremated.

    God bless.

  4. Not too much bothers me in terms of bugs, etc., but I don't want worms wiggling into my house. Ewww....hope the stuff from Home Despot does the trick.

  5. Maybe try some salt over the door entry...it works for slugs.

  6. My dear Mrusupole - Why not start a worm farm? They're relatively easy to do - google it. Or I could FedEx mine to you but they might not make the trip all the way out to Caleefornia.

  8. Dearest MTAE - I once tried pouring salt in front of the door to the Master bedroom and the slug still got in....nyuk nyuk. j/k. ;) Besides pouring salt anywhere --- EmmaLou would just lick it up like the dorky dog she is.

  9. I could send Goliath to you but EmmaLou would probably eat him.

  10. DGMysteries...I don't think so -- EmmaLou is kinda scared of things that jump at her so feel free to loan out Goliath to me - I'll make him a mini-pond in my front hallway. snort I was truly surprised that EmmaLou didn't snarf up the worms - but she just ignored them. I think she's losing her touch -- she'll roll in a dead bird and eat rabbit pellets but ignores a nice juicy wriggly worm? Pet therapy...

I see your DS has a thing for "the Big Orange Box of Toys", just like my own Man.

I like to go there with him because there's a hot dog vendor in front of the store. yummm!
